Stewart Lee, Patrick Kielty, Nina Conti & Dylan Moran Shows On Sale Now!

Two more fantastic acts have just been announced for the Vodafone Comedy Carnival in Galway. The first is Stewart Lee. With another BAFTA nomination for Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle (Series 3) plus Chortle Awards, a BAFTA and a BRITISH COMEDY AWARD already in the bog, Stewart's fourth and possibly final BBC 2 series will transmit in Spring 2016.

His current tour of A ROOM WITH A STEW is a work in progress towards the material for Series 4 of BBC2's triple BAFTA nominated Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. The tour comes to Róisín Dubh for 2 nights on October 25th and 26th as part of the Vodafone Comedy Carnival, Galway. Throughout this extensive tour, the middle-aged comedian will explore new subjects, try-out brand new material and will cut and add sections ... see it live now ahead of transmission.

‘There are very few people I’d like to see for two hours with an interval. I just think it’s obnoxious.’ Katherine Ryan, Gigglebeats
'Stewart is an acquired taste ... He just gets on stage, gives you a run-through, performs and exits stage left. A bit like wash and go shampoo but without the froth and more of a sting in the eye.' Gloucester Citizen, review from Cheltenham Town Hall

‘The trick was it was all hilarious. Having refocused on stand-up in recent years, after conquering the worlds of television and radio, “Help” is a wondrous culmination of Kielty’s latter-day comedic efforts’ Belfast Telegraph

The first show of the 2015 Vodafone Comedy Carnival 2015 has just been announced.  Dylan Moran star of Black Books, Shaun of the Dead and Calvary is back with his new stand up show.  Expect a master class in comedy when Dylan takes his new show OFF THE HOOK out on the road in 2015.  He who has been referred to as The Oscar Wilde of comedy, has recently been sharpening his deceptively rambling stand-up in unusual places including Kiev, Moscow and Kazakhstan - making him the first western comic to perform in St Petersburg.

He has spent much of the last year touring the US whilst working on a TV pilot for ABC and an appearance on Letterman. This new show, Off The Hook, his first Irish tour for three years, promises to deliver more of Moran's unique take on love, politics, misery and the everyday absurdities of life all delivered with poetical panache. For any lover of comedy this is the must see show of 2015.

★★★★★ “Jokes as sharp as barbed wire and a comedy brain quicker than a steel trap… Rarely have the rafters of the Playhouse shook so dangerously to the sound of laughter.” The Scotsman
★★★★ “A supremely confident performer, his timing for delivering punch lines is something special” The Telegraph
★★★★ "It didn’t falter for a moment. This is stand-up comedy of the first order... there’s scarcely a word wasted... seriously good fun" The Times
