Best known as Murray from HBO’s Flight of the Conchords and Steve in TBS’ Wrecked, Rhys Darby is an actor, writer and stand-up comedian from New Zealand. He has starred in a plethora of TV shows and films from The X-Files and Voltron: Legendary Defender to Yes Man and Jumanji. For all of his onscreen success, Rhys is never far from his stand-up roots. His live show has been described as a sensational blend of sound effects, characterizations and askew observations. His career has taken him from his homeland of New Zealand to the UK and beyond. He has performed his unique brand of humour in places as far flung as Iceland and the Falkland Islands, and at festivals from the Edinburgh Fringe to Montreal’s Just for Laughs.

MYSTIC TIME BIRD
Join Kiwi comedy superstar Rhys Darby as he records his fifth comedy special, Mystic Time Bird. In Mystic Time Bird Rhys turns to the world of ancient mysticism to find answers to the world’s problems. In doing so, he discovers that
he was a bird in a past life, and this knowledge takes him on an unexpected path. Darby will address the big questions like “Are we truly free in this day and age or is alien technology guiding us to an even greater cage?” All this, plus
weird movement and sound effects. Darby’s shows are always a mix of astute observations and stand-up cocooned in a fantastical story that takes his audience on a journey through the ridiculous to the downright silly. This show is no different.Darby rose to fame as the inept, but well-meaning band manager in Flight of the Conchords. He has gone on to star in films like Yes Man, Jumanji, The Boat that Rocked and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. You can also catch him
as Coran on Netflix’s Voltron or in the new TMNT reboot.
